- Author and teambuilding guru Dr. Jim Cain shares his favorite, newest and best team and community building activities from around the world.
- Rope Games
- From the title for Jim's latest book comes his favorite collection of powerful activities that you can lead with just a few simple pieces of rope. From Raccoon Circles to the Bull Ring, to over one hundred activities with rope, string, webbing, elastic shock cord and other forms of cordage. Using a finite collection of ropes to facilitate an infinite variety of group experiences.
- Exploring Character Actively
- The goal of this workshop is to turn words (like "character") into action. Jim shares his favorite active learning strategies for bringing character to life.
- Dancing in Lines, Square and Circles
- Learn how to take the essential elements of social dancing and use them to create community with your audience. This event is ideal for an evening program session. Recommended time for this event is 60-90 minutes. As a third generation square dance caller, musician and dancer, I’ve enjoyed teaching a wide variety of rural dances, folks dances, mixers, and modern dances that truly build connection and community.
- Traveling Light
- This collection of simple and lightweight portable teambuilding props is perfect for those occasions when you have limitations on the amount and weight of teambuilding equipment you can bring to an event. Most of the gear required in this workshop fits easily into a small stuff sack and weighs less than 2 pounds (1 kilogram). Perfect for wilderness programs, backpacking trips, trekking camps and any program where traveling light is a necessity.

- Using these tools (and partnering with Jim’s expert co-facilitator, Allison Phaneuf) this workshop will help your team learn where their strengths and opportunities are, and how to work even better together.
- Make It and Take It Workshop
- In addition to writing about team and community building activities, Dr. Jim Cain is also a mechanical engineer and has learned how to make his own unique collection of teambuilding props. In this workshop, not only will you learn how to facilitate activities, but you will also be able to make (and take) some of Jim’s favorite team and community building props with you at the conclusion of the program. For those programs where the budget is limited, this ‘nuts and bolts’ workshop will show you how to truly ‘do it yourself.’ An additional charge for construction materials ($25 to $75 per participant) is required for this workshop.
- Wings, Strings & Flying Things
- One of Jim’s favorite things is playing with toys that fly. This workshop incorporates several fun and scientific activities, from boomerang making, tuning, throwing and catching to paper & foam and 2 liter soda bottle rockets. Disc golf, catapults, petecas and other playful and fun activities are included.
- * Exploring Leadership
- Based upon Jim’s extensive contribution to the leadership program of the C5 Youth Foundation (formerly known as Camp Coca Cola), this workshop explores the elements of leadership in a fun, engaging and active manner.
- Leadership on Fire
- Based upon the historically significant Mann Gulch fire of August 1949, this workshop/case study invites participants to relive the events of that eventful day, and explore the teachable moments given by that event. Learn how decisions were made ‘under fire.’ Discover how 56 minutes changed an American institution forever. How 30 seconds changed the lives of 13 brave firefighters, and how 3 seconds was all that separated life from death for 3 of these men. A dramatic, compelling and historically accurate event that is sure to stay in the hearts and minds of your leadership team.
